As higher and higher performance of steel plate is required in the domestic steel market, steel companies try to innovate in steel-rolling process for the better competition. To satisfy the needs, Boji independently developed rolling mill intermediate cooling system which is used to speed up the cooling of the billet before finish rolling, as well as improve the efficiency of the rolling mill, optimize inner structure of the plate, increase the production capacity and draw the comprehensive mechanic performance of the steel billet (mainly for medium plate mill and heavy plate mill).

The system was installed and tested successfully in No. 1 workshop in Jiangsu Shagang Group in May 2010 and reached the design requirements. It was believed to speed up the production capacity and quality of the plates and was rewarded with a good reputation.
